5. Supported Protocols

Mobius USSD Gateway bridges telecom signaling (southbound) and service applications (northbound). Southbound, it supports the classic SS7/MAP USSD procedures used in GSM/UMTS networks. Northbound, it exposes application-friendly interfaces such as HTTP/REST (and, in some deployments, SMPP-based integration patterns).

This section explains the protocol layers and the “contract” each side must follow to keep USSD dialogs interoperable, predictable, and carrier-safe.
